Sam Ogolla.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Development Expert.

Sam Ogolla is a capacity-building expert of many years, specializing in project processes (PCM), resource mobilization, M&E, research, education and development, and advocacy and policy processes. He has over 20 years of field-based experience gained from working in Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.

WORK EXPERIENCE IN ADVOCACY: Among his recent advocacy capacitybuilding activities include being the Lead Advocacy & Capacity Building.

Expert at CBiT (current); developing and delivering an advocacy training for the Inclusive Education Network (Tana River, Kenya) in March 2020; capacity building in advocacy for Tana River County Community Chairpersons Association (TRICCCA) in November 2019; and capacity building consultancy for International Aid Services (June 2019).

OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE: His other work experience includes Programme Manager at CBM International; Regional Programs Advisor at Sightsavers International; Country Programme Manager at VSF Germany; M&E Advisor at UN-OCHA; Programme Development and Management Support at CARE International, Save the Children Alliance, and International Aid Services, respectively.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION: Sam is registered for his PhD programme at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) of the University of Nairobi. He holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from University of the Free States, in Bloemfontein (South Africa), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Instructional Methods from Kenyatta University (Nairobi, Kenya). He is also a certified Trainer of Trainers (Kenyatta University); holds a certificate in Advocacy from Haas School of Business (University of California, Berkeley, USA); and a Master Trainer Certificate in Value Chain Development (IIRR). It is this experience that Sam brings to the advocacy training for leather industry stakeholders in East Africa, under the Leather Industry Network Platform Project.
