Beatrice Mwasi is a distinguished expert in business innovation, industrial development, and export trade, with over 20 years of experience driving transformative economic initiatives across Africa. As the Managing Director of the Centre for Business Innovation & Training (CBIT), she leads efforts to enhance manufacturing competitiveness, strengthen value chains, and promote sustainable business growth. Under her leadership, CBIT has equipped businesses with innovative strategies to thrive in dynamic markets, with a strong focus on export trade, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.
Her expertise spans multiple industries, including leather, textiles, agriculture, and manufacturing. She has successfully delivered high-impact projects, business process reengineering, and value chain optimization, helping businesses scale and compete effectively.
Beatrice has led major initiatives such as the Real Leather. Stay Different. Africa Leather Design Competition, in partnership with the Leather & Hide Council of America (LHCA) and the Africa Leather & Leather Products Institute (ALLPI). She has also collaborated with leading global organizations, including Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Liaison Committee Europe-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific (COLEACP), and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) to enhance value chains, improve market access, and foster economic empowerment across Africa.
Her work and professional achievements have earned her prestigious awards from institutions such as JICA, ALLPI, the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), and the British Council. These honors reflect her commitment to excellence, innovation, and capacity-building in local and international markets.
Beatrice holds an MA in Design Management (Distinction) from Middlesex University and a BA in Industrial Design (first class) from the University of Nairobi. She has also attained a diploma in management and multiple certifications in entrepreneurship, and export trade facilitation. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Entrepreneurship at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, reinforcing her dedication to lifelong learning and industry advancement.
